Italian Composer Girolamo Deraco was awarded the Musictheater and Opera Composition residency for EMP for 2016-17. He will be composing an opera on the topic of pioneering investigative reporter Nelly Bly, as well as pieces of music-theatre for the ensemble (www.empnyc.org).
